About Lombard Direct Loans

Lombard and Lombard Direct are actually trading names of the Royal Bank of Scotland; However, Lombard Finance is operated independently, so Lombard is effectively a different lender with separate products and service centres. Generally we have found that Lombard offer lower APRs than their Royal Bank of Scotland equivalent. The current typical APR is 6.7%.

A Lombard Direct loan lets you borrow from as little as £2,000 up to a maximum of £25,000.  If you want to borrow more (or less) than this you’ll need to choose the “Compare” channel on this page. Choose the “Compare” channel if you’re under the age of 22 – Lombard’s minimum age for loan customers.

You can apply for a Lombards personal unsecured loan online, in most cases receiving an instant decision.  Whilst the credit acceptance criteria isn’t as tight as some, our data still shows that over 85% of online applications for “high street” unsecured loans are rejected*, so you may want to make other applications (use our “Compare” channel to find other suitable lenders and apply online).  If you’re a homeowner with anything less than a perfect credit record you may be better off with a secured loan, or, if you’re borrowing a large amount, you may be better off extending your mortgage with a remortgage rather than borrowing an additional amount with a Lombard unsecured loan.
